but on top of that, I'm celebrating just over a year's worth of trying to give art a substantial shot in my life. So I'm taking a quick look back...
I always grew up around art. I'm a part of a family that loves going to museums and galleries, loves to read, and loves to make things for fun. I also studied art in school--not the practical side of making art, but the theoretical stuff, like art history, historical preservation, and appreciation. In my spare time, growing up, I doodled and tried to draw, but right around the time I hit high school I stopped drawing. i think it's because that's around the time I decided to devote my life to writing. So high school up until now, that's been my major creative output in my life (besides music).
Grad school kind of reopened my eyes to art because my program has awesome classes like "writing for comics and manga" and I also took a few workshops on graphic novels. Add to that art workshop

So today in english class my teacher was trying to get our attention because we're going to read the Crucible, but we were all mehasdjfsdhfk and stuff, so she just got up and left.
No joke, she stood up and went over the the class across from us and taught them, while their teacher came and taught us.

Progress, Join.Me, Professionalism, and LULZStill working anyway
While the big livestream event I had planned pretty much died yesterday, I am still going ahead with finishing the illustration and documenting my progress. I'm gonna put it all together into a video when I'm done and upload it to YouTube or wherever, so everyone can see it all come together. Future Livestreaming
After the livestream bust yesterday, I got a lot of helpful tips on where to go for livestreaming alternatives. The most suggested was something called join.me. You can all rest assured that I will be looking into those alternative methods of streaming when I get a chance to sit down and do some tests of my own. I've always had issues with Livestream, so thank you for suggesting some alternatives.

Help the HardDrive SaleHey guys. I wanted to make a separate journal about this, since there've been some questions. Plus I would be eternally grateful for anyone who would be willing to repost this. The more commissions the better!
THE ISSUE:
Recently I brought my hard drive into work to give a friend a soundtrack and it fell on the floor in the process and now doesn't work.
Normally we'd say oh well and get a new hard drive, BUT
4 years worth of my daughters pictures, and 6 years worth of animation files from my past studio jobs are on that drive, and I need to get them back.
Do do this we will either need to pay 550 or 850 (depending on how broken the drive is)
SOO to help raise money to pay for this expense I am holding a sale
on SINGLE CHARACTER, SOLID COLOUR, NON-STEAMPUNK commissions.
It will be all I'm doing for the next two weeks.
I am selling them for 10 dollars. I am willing to do multiple characters in one commission but they are 10$ a piece.

As most of you know, I like to do charity work!
It's fun, challenging and so, so rewarding.
I encourage anyone to take a couple minutes and

I Started up a kickstarter for a plan to make
cakepops for a local animal shelter to sell
and gain some new business and income
for the animals.

When I adopt my dog, I'll remember

Art Thievery!So, it's finally happened to me! Someone using a drawing of mine and basically taking credit for it. Not just that, but the kid has the balls to use it as his featured drawing!
This guy :iconroach97: took my Future Foundation Spider-man sketch, changed the contrast on it, and claims that he "inked"it!
If it weren't for a fellow deev sending a note to me (not sure if they'd liked to be named), I wouldn't have known. (A big THANKS again!)
Well, it has been reported to DA and hopefully they will take it down soon. It's not that I even mind collaborating with someone, or someone asking if they can take a sketch of mine to ink and/or color because they like it, or they want to use it for practice, or whatever. But, this kid didn't do that. I think someone may have tired to "call him" on it before, and he place a "credit" to me, but he didn't link it to the original drawing and never informed me about it. So, in each issue, I she tries to feature a few things.
1. A feature article that is helpful and relevant to the dA community. Lantiis is writing this next one as she couldn't get a volunteer. It is just one page with or without pictures.
2. Some top features - usually a group or contest that did really really well while also helping people, some members to nominate for Senior and why, a showcase of some very helpful dA-related tutorials or art, etc.
3. Groups... New, old, struggling. Doesn't matter.She prefers new or struggling, but even those that have been around for a while and have a lot to offer are great candidates.
